The Department of Government and Public Administration of the Faculty of Social Sciences is inviting applications for a leading academic position at the rank of Chair/Distinguished/Full Professor in the discipline of international relations and area studies. The Department offers programmes leading to Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees. Faculty members actively engage in research with particular focus on international relations, public administration and policy, comparative politics, and studies of the greater China regions. Qualifications

The expected areas of specialization for this position are international relations in general and China-European or China-EU relations in particular. We are interested in hiring a leading scholar in the field to conduct teaching and research work and produce impactful publications on China’s relations with European Union and European countries. Applicants should have a PhD degree in political science or relevant fields of area studies. The knowledge of the European languages concerned is a plus. Applicants should demonstrate international excellence in scholarship with a proven record of publications in high calibre international journals and presses. Applicants should also demonstrate strong commitment to teaching courses in international relations, European studies, and Sino-European relations at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in English.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2023 or as soon as possible.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approximately USD149,420) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
