Connecting Futures: Air China Brussels Routes Launch Event

Air China held an event on March 23 for the launch of its new Beijing to Brussels service. Minister Zhu Jing of the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the European Union, Mr. Jan Spooren, Governor of the Province of Flemish Brabant and Mr. Léon Verhallen, Director Aviation Development of Brussels Airport presented opening remarks.

The Air China Group comprises a core of 9 subsidiary and equity-affiliated airlines, including Air China Limited, Shenzhen Airlines, Shandong Airlines, and Air Macau. As of 2025, Air China Group has a fleet of 967 aircraft, of which 155 are wide-body aircraft. Air China has a global network of 129 international routes, including 41 European routes of which two are connecting China and Belgium. There are 10 weekly flights to Belgium. The first flight from Brussels to Beijing Capital International Airport (CA964) is on March 24, 2026, while flight CA464 will start on March 26, 2026 from Brussels to Chengdu Tianfu airport.

The CA & LHG joint venture provides competitive discounts and special fares; offers more routes and destinations; and a wider choice of onboard products, experiences, and services. It offers access to an extensive lounge network and frequent flyer mileage accrual across more carriers of the Star Alliance.

Air China offers free luxury car service to customers traveling on European routes between designated city locations and airport terminals. The service is free for all first class and business class passengers and those flying with the “Latitude Fare”. The service is available in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen and other cities.

Entry China visa exemption for 30 days: Until 31 December 2026 China (mainland) allows visa exemption entry for up to 30 days for ordinary passport holders from the following countries: France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North-Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, The United Kingdom.

Transit in China visa exemption for 10 days: There are 60 ports of entry providing a 240-hour visa exemption policy for tourists from 54 countries. Ports of entry include airports in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, etc.
