China granted passport holders of six additional countries – including Belgium and Luxembourg – 15-day visits without having to apply for a visa for the purposes of travel, business, and family reunions. The policy enters into force on March 14 and will last until November 30, unless it would be extended. The other four countries are Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary and Austria. They join an earlier batch of six countries – France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Spain and the Netherlands – which were already granted the visa exemption. A visa-free policy for 30 days is available for Hainan province for the same purposes as listed above and also for medical treatment, attending exhibitions, and participating in sports competitions.
