On 19 September, the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce (FCCC), received a high-level delegation in Ghent, led by the Vice-Mayor of Suzhou, Mr. Tang Xiaodong. The delegation also met top executives at Barco and Umicore, founding members of the FCCC and which have also investment in Suzhou.
This visit was a follow-up to the meeting in March in Suzhou between the Mayor of Suzhou and the Belgian Ambassador of Belgium in China, Mr Jan Hoogmartens, PhD, the Consul General of Belgium in Shanghai, Mr Bruno Jans, Mr Frank Van Eynde, Flemish Economic Representative and Ms Gwenn Sonck, Executive Director, Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce (FCCC).
The visit aimed to discuss further cooperation between both sides. Suzhou is well-known among FCCC members. Bekaert, Picanol Weaving Machines, Vermeiren and many others have investments in Suzhou Industrial Park.
