WANTED: Flemish SMEs wanting to have the Chinese market, especially Shanghai, explored

Found: eight motivated Howest students, two experienced teachers, and one expert from Business Markers.

Our students are being coached by Bram Vaerewyck and two teachers. Below you can read what our offer includes.

At HOWEST, the West-Flanders high-school in Bruges, we are meanwhile five weeks into the new academic year. Eight second-year bachelor students in Business Management, part of the elective course Chinese Business Studies, are at your disposal to chart part of the Chinese market – namely Shanghai – for three Flemish SMEs.

What's included?

• Market study and Go-To-Market strategy: Based on your briefing and desk research, students will in the first semester analyze the Chinese market, identify potential customers and partners, and prepare their market visit.

• Market visit: between 4 and 19 April 2025, they will visit China (including Shanghai) to check their initial analyses and conclusions with the reality through market and company visits and establishing local contacts.

• Final recommendations: at the end of April 2025, they will submit their final report and present their conclusions and detailed recommendations to a jury: a representative of your company, teachers Lieven Van Hyfte, Lieven Theys and Philip Vanhaelemeersch, and visiting professor Bram Vaerewyck of Business Markers.
