Ms Gwenn Sonck, Executive Director, Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce, attended the meeting between the Mayor of Suzhou and Belgian Ambassador to China, H.E. Mr Jan Hoogmartens. Both sides discussed the substantive bilateral ties between Belgium and Suzhou as well as future cooperation. The Mayor stressed the importance of the large investments of our companies in the Suzhou Industrial Park, mentioning Umicore, Barco and Picanol Group, all founding members of the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce (FCCC) – China Chamber of Commerce!
At the end of March, Ms Gwenn Sonck also attended the grand opening ceremony of Barco (Suzhou) Medical Technology Co held in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. H.E. Mr Jan Hoogmartens, (Ambassador of Belgium to the People's Republic of China and Mongolia), Mr Charles Beauduin and Mrs An Steegen (co-CEOs of Barco), Mr Johan Fornier (Vice President Barco) and others participated in the event. The opening of Barco (Suzhou) Medical Technology Co is another milestone in Barco's activities in the Chinese market. The company continues to increase investment in its medical business to help Chinese doctors to improve their diagnostic level and promote the development of medical imaging and digital operating rooms.
