Hedin Mobility Group, one of the largest mobility players in Europe, has been appointed as the exclusive importer of NIO Group brands – including NIO and firefly – in Belgium and Luxembourg. NIO will be the 15th brand in Hedin Mobility Group’s ever-expanding distribution portfolio, with commercial activities starting in September 2025.
Founded in China in 2014 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange (Nasdaq), Hong Kong and Singapore (SGX), NIO is a world-leading manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs), known for its cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions with a strong focus on user experience. The brand is currently active in Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, and is now further expanding its presence in Europe in collaboration with Hedin Mobility Group.
Thanks to this new partnership, Hedin Mobility Group will be responsible for the distribution of NIO Group brands in Belgium and Luxembourg, including the premium brand NIO and the new brand firefly. The partnership includes not only distribution, but also vehicle sales, after-sales services and spare parts. Initially, a comprehensive offering will be launched, comprising two different brands:
• NIO, which focuses on premium electric vehicles, such as the EL6 – an all-purpose electric SUV; the EL8 – a safe, sustainable six-seater luxury SUV; the ET5 – a mid-size electric sedan; and the ET5 Touring – a smart electric break.
• firefly, NIO’s new brand focusing on high-end compact electric vehicles, with the first model being the firefly: a small electric vehicle designed for urban users.
All vehicles are equipped with NIO’s proprietary software and hardware platforms, including intelligent driving chips, advanced chassis systems and the signature NOMI AI assistant – a fully integrated in-car artificial intelligence that provides smooth voice control and control over vehicle functions.

NIO’s offering will initially be available exclusively through Hedin Automotive in Belgium from September, with Luxembourg following in 2026. Customers can count on a fully integrated journey – from vehicle selection and financing to service, charging and digital connectivity. NIO and firefly will be presented to the general public for the first time on 19 June during the Link2Fleet ZE Experience Event in Leuven.
