The Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce has the pleasure to invite you to a webinar on 'Cross-Border Data Transfers between the EU and China: What You Need to Know', which will take place on the 3rd of June at 13h00 CEST.
During this webinar we will navigate the intricate landscape of data localisation and cross-border transfer regulations stipulated in the Cyber Security Law (CSL), Data Security Law (DSL), and Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL).
Guohua Zhang, partner at Osborne Clarke China, will introduce you to the relevant rules under the PIPL and new PRC rules easing cross-border transfer requirements, and share compliance recommendations from a Chinese law perspective.
The European angle will also be tackled by our other guest speakers, Valentin de le Court and Margo Cornette from Osborne Clarke Belgium, which will focus on the GDPR requirements for such data transfer.
They will present the European Data Protection Board's (EDPB) stance on transfers to China, with practical suggestions to help companies meeting the requirements for transferring data to China. The potential impact of the new PIPL on earlier guidance from the EDPB or on data transfer impact assessments previously conducted by companies will also be tackled.
Moti Khan, a Senior Solution Specialist, China Telecom Global, will go through the business benefits and typical solutions that will help European companies collaborate easily with their counterparts in China including new technologies such as SD-WAN which has helped many European businesses grow in China.
