Sectorial trade mission on Environment & Energy to China

24 June to 1 July 2008

Beijing, Dalian, Shenyang and Qingdao

It is known that China has to cope with a lot of challenges on environment and energy.

Finding the right balance between a fast economic growth and environmental care will be a top priority for the Chinese authorities in the coming years.

China needs environmental and energy technology to cope with the increasing demand on energy and at the same time has to protect the environment and limit pollution.

There are a lot of opportunities in China for Flemish companies which are active in environmental and energy technology.

The Chinese government is spending large amounts on investments in environment.

The government also tries to secure energy supply and to limit dependence on crude oil and charcoal.

Enough reason for Flanders Investment & Trade, Agoria, the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce and the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) to organize a sectorial trade mission on environment & energy to China from 24 June (with arrival in Beijing on 25 June) until 1 July 2008 (with departure from Beijing on 30 June).

Visits are scheduled to the following cities: Beijing, Dalian, Shenyang and Qingdao.

Flanders Investment & Trade will have a booth at the China International Environment Protection Fair in Dalian, the largest fair on environment in China.

The Flemish Economic Representatives and the Technology Attaché for China will compose a tailor made appointment programme with careful selected Chinese business partners.

Mutual meetings with local authorities, companies and organizations, seminars with environmental experts, lunches/dinners with Chinese business partners and network events with expats and Chinese contacts are also scheduled.
