The Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce and Suzhou Industrial Park organized a successful meeting with a delegation of Suzhou Industrial Park on Wednesday 16 April 2008 at Hotel Metropole, Brussels.

Starting from 1994, Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), situated near Shanghai, is the largest cooperation project between the Chinese and Singapore governments. Boundary to the downtown Suzhou, SIP has a total jurisdiction area of 288 sq km and is well linked by the expressways to the other major cities.

The delegation of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) was led by Chairman Ma Minglong, Vice-Mayor of Suzhou who welcomed the participants.
This was followed by an overview of the advantages of investing in Suzhou Industrial Park by Ms. Liu Hua, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of SIPAC.

Mr Bernard Dursin, Vice President of the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce and Senior Vice President of Barco welcomed the delegation on behalf of the FCCC and gave an introduction about the FCCC and the importance of investing in an investment park.

The following companies gave very interesting presentations about their investment experiences in SIP: 

  •      Picanol by Mr Jan Laga, Vice President Systems 
  •     Bekaert by Mr Jan Boelens, General Manager Fibre Technologies 
  •     Vitalo Packaging by Mr Didier Leclercq, Vice President

The conference was attended by 70 participants.
